KPMG and Anthropic have announced a global alliance that embeds Anthropic’s Claude AI models into KPMG’s Digital Gateway platform, aiming to accelerate enterprise AI adoption across tax, private equity, cybersecurity and business operations.

KPMG integrates Claude AI into enterprise delivery platform

KPMG and Anthropic have launched KPMG Digital Gateway Powered by Claude, bringing Anthropic’s AI models directly into KPMG’s global client delivery platform.

The initiative forms part of a wider global alliance between the two organisations, with an initial focus on tax services and private equity clients.

By integrating Claude into KPMG’s AI-enabled Digital Gateway platform, the companies said users will be able to build agentic workflows in real time to support operational and decision-making processes.

KPMG in the U.S. will also integrate Claude into private equity-focused offerings while jointly developing new AI-enabled products for portfolio companies.

Alliance combines AI infrastructure with enterprise advisory services

The partnership combines Anthropic’s AI models with KPMG’s domain expertise and enterprise delivery infrastructure.

Digital Gateway, built on Microsoft Azure, currently combines KPMG tax insights, proprietary tools and client data within a single environment used by KPMG professionals to build AI-enabled tools for client work.

With Claude integrated into the platform, KPMG said professionals and clients will be able to interact with AI systems directly within existing workflows rather than across multiple disconnected applications.

“At KPMG, we’re innovating and redefining how work gets done,” said Bill Thomas, Global Chairman and CEO of KPMG International,

“This global alliance with Anthropic reflects our shared commitment to responsible AI, prioritizing security, trust, and governance as KPMG firms scale these capabilities to our clients and people around the world.”

Focus on agentic AI and workflow automation

KPMG said the integration introduces Claude Cowork and Managed Agents into Digital Gateway, enabling organisations to create specialised AI-driven workflows more rapidly.

According to the company, tasks that previously required weeks of development and coordination across multiple systems can now be completed in minutes within the integrated platform environment.

“Building an AI agent to help clients adjust to changing tax regulations used to take weeks and required teams to switch between multiple tools and chat windows,” said Rema Serafi, Vice Chair, Tax at KPMG US.

“With Cowork and Managed Agents integrated in Digital Gateway, that same capability takes minutes. This is a totally different way of working.”

Private equity and enterprise transformation become early priorities

As part of the agreement, Anthropic has named KPMG as a preferred consultant for deploying Anthropic AI capabilities to private equity clients.

The partnership will focus on helping portfolio companies implement AI systems aimed at improving productivity and supporting development of AI-enabled products and services.

The companies also said they plan to co-develop additional AI-enabled enterprise offerings, including KPMG Blaze, which can incorporate Claude Code to support IT modernisation and software development processes.

Enterprise-wide AI rollout expands across KPMG workforce

KPMG said more than 276,000 employees globally will receive access to Anthropic’s Claude AI capabilities as part of the alliance.

The company stated that the rollout builds on earlier adoption of Claude across KPMG’s Advisory, AI and Data Labs and enterprise support functions in the United States.

“KPMG works in industries where accuracy, accountability, and trust aren’t optional, and they’re applying the same standard to AI,” and Daniela Amodei, Co-founder and President of Anthropic.

“They’re rolling Claude out to 276,000 people across the business and using it for client work in tax and private equity. They’re also bringing it into cybersecurity, where it helps find and fix vulnerabilities. That’s what a firm-wide commitment to AI looks like, and we’re proud to be the partner they chose.”

Cybersecurity and AI governance embedded into deployment strategy

The companies said cybersecurity, risk management and AI assurance will be integrated into the design and operation of AI systems developed through the alliance.

KPMG stated that all work will follow its Trusted AI framework, with teams focused on identifying vulnerabilities and protecting critical systems as AI deployment expands.

“Our clients depend on us where accuracy, judgment and knowledge matter most,” said Tim Walsh, Chair and CEO of KPMG US,

“AI is changing how we deliver – trust and innovation are the core of this new offering and we’re proud to partner with Anthropic to deliver incredible value to our clients and our people. It’s one of the most important things we’ll do.”

The changing role of AI-enabled advisory services

“We’ve worked on the KPMG Digital Gateway platform for years. Adding Anthropic’s Claude models inside the platform changes what’s possible – not just the speed, but the type of work itself,” said Neil Dougherty, EVP and CFO of Keysight Technologies.

“Our team is genuinely doing different things than they were six months ago, and this alliance takes it further. That’s the kind of progression we want from advisors who are serious about leading on AI.”

Keeping the human in the loop

“Organizations often talk about keeping a ‘human in the loop’ when using AI, but KPMG and UT Austin’s research helps clarify what that human should be doing,” said Ethan Burris, Senior Associate Dean for Academic Affairs at the McCombs School of Business at UT Austin.

“We find that the greatest value comes not just from technical adoption, but from the ways employees exercise judgment, shape workflows, interface with the technology, evaluate its outputs, and make decisions with AI. As these tools become more embedded in consequential work, responsible deployment will require both capable technology and a much clearer understanding of the human role in creating value.”
