Nscale’s recently announced collaborations with Microsoft, NVIDIA, and Caterpillar will deliver 1.35 gigawatts of NVIDIA Vera Rubin NVL72 GPUs at a flagship AI campus in West Virginia.
NSCALE AND MICROSOFT UNITE
Nscale has recently signed a letter of intent with global technology conglomerate Microsoft to construct and operate advanced artificial intelligence (AI) data center infrastructure. This will be used to host a large-scale graphics processing units (GPUs) deployment based on the latest generation of NVIDIA Vera Rubin NVL72 GPUs and other future technologies.
The deployment will be delivered across multiple sectors in early 2027, forming one of the world’s largest dedicated AI compute installations.
This collaboration follows Nscale’s recent acquisition of American Intelligence & Power Corporation, securing a 2,250-acre site on the Monarch Compute Campus (Monarch Campus) in Mason County, West Virginia.
This will be the first state-certified AI microgrid with a power runway scalable to over eight gigawatts (GW) in the US, making it a key enabler of Nscale’s innovative infrastructure launches.
The infrastructure blueprint between Nscale and Microsoft will operate under a long-term framework that includes an initial multi-year compute services term alongside a long-term data center lease structure.
This roll-out demonstrates the scale and strategic importance of the facility and positions the Monarch Campus to be a cornerstone facility for next-generation AI training and inference capacity in the US.

Nscale equally anticipates the collaboration and the importance it will have on the future AI landscape.

A CRUCIAL TURNING POINT
Nscale’s strategic acquisition and forward-looking collaboration are timely, as AI is projected to drive a significant increase in data center demand, with reports suggesting that existing supply is constrained by the speed at which power and new capacity can be brought online.
The Monarch Campus will therefore be crucial to meeting rising demand, with the expansion capabilities of the site allowing Nscale to develop power capacity rapidly while supporting one of the largest and most anticipated AI compute deployments in the market.

The Monarch Campus is also being developed with local and environmental considerations in mind, as power will be generated on-site as the facility operates independently from the local grid.
Nscale is also prioritizing carbon sequestration to offset greenhouse gas (GHG) emissions, as well as utilizing high-efficiency design that consumes less water with no impact on the municipal water supply or residential users.
COLLABORATION WITH CATERPILLAR
Nscale is also proud to announce a strategic collaboration with Caterpillar.
Nscale will deploy the company’s G3500 series natural gas generator sets at sufficient scale to achieve two GW of power generation by the end of Q2 2028, powering the NVIDIA Vera Rubin DSX AI Factory reference design.
